Kitchen Cabinet Install

Kitchen Cabinet Install

A few weeks ago, I posted my thoughts about custom kitchen cabinets.  A few days later, our kitchen cabinet install began.  The weekend before, I went into the house just to see what was going on that day and ran into a sea of cabinets.  If you remember, one of my goals was to have enough space to never run out of storage.  Never gonna happen in this kitchen.  I honestly need to buy a ladder to use all of the space.

The cabinet builders did an amazing job.  I think they are going to last us the rest of our lifetime without needing to be replaced.  Unless the ocean grabs hold of me later in life, I’m never planning to move.  A couple of my favorite things are the pull out shelves and the hidden storage for my garbage.  The couple that put them in were so friendly.  I didn’t meet one person I didn’t like during the process.

After the install, it looks very close to the picture I was given when we picked the cabinets.  We decided to make the hutch different from the rest of the counter tops, so hopefully it will look more separate once the granite is installed.  We are still weeks away from that because the stone we picked is back ordered.  I really was hoping to be in our house this month, but it looks like later next month.

These pictures are from a few weeks ago and so much has been done to the house since.  There are so many things that have to be done at the end that feel like they take so long.  I go down to the house now and think, just give me some running water in one sink and shower and a toilet and I can move in!  I want to go home so badly.

We are close.  Very close!
